First off, I want you to know that “Present Company is Excepted…” That’s You! If you had nefarious ideas in mind to take advantage of your access to the Secure Gateway, you would not be advertising it.
But if this access is accessible just by paying your subscription, that would seems that the system is not all that secure. I would imagine that anybody could get a job, even part-time, pumping gas, changing tires, changing oil, etc… and then that person could steal the reader (or whatever it is…) and do all the “bad stuff” the OBDII is intended to prevent…
Am I off-base?
