I have a '98 bonneville SSEI with an electronic compass. the compass comes on but does not work properly. What could be wrong with it? How do you fix it? ---

You may need to set the calibration on it. The Owner’s manual should tell you how to set that. ---

In the owner’s manual there should be a section on setting the compass to where you live. It has something to do with the way the earth’s magnetic lines are oriented. I’ve done it on a couple different cars but I can’t remember the drill, but the manual will explain it. ---
