I have 2002 Ford Taurus SES. Currently the brake light is on and the ABS and traction control are not working. The brakes have been checked and are ok and it has been hooked up to a code reader and no codes come up. Occasionally the light will go off and the abs and traction control work for awhile. Any ideas?

Not all code readers are created equal. Most basic code readers that might be used by normal folks or auto parts stores will not read ABS codes. You’re going to need to get it on a more capable scanner. You will probably have to pay a shop a diagnostic charge.
