I backed up and hit something breaking the right side tail light. I replaced the whole assembly and now I have no break lights or dashboard lights. Is there a fuse I can check, or does a mechanic have to do some sort of diagnosis?

You have a fuse panel under the dash on the drivers side. Check them one at a time so they don’t get mixed up.
