Look on line using the web search “Prius used engines”. They are available.
You might try replacing that coil (and plug).
How about a Used Mitsubishi Mirage, Toyota Yaris, Nissan versa, Hyundai Elantra, Chevy Spark, Subaru Impreza, Honda Fit, or a Kia with purchasing an extended warranty?
@littlewolfcsd, your post is about 2 years later than the thread. There’s a lot to read on the page. The posting date is on the same line as your username, and on the right. The message immediately above yours was posted in February of 2018. The OP probably solve his problem by now. Welcome to the board and stop back with more comments. Your post is worthwhile, just a little late.
As mentioned before, a Prius would be the best choice. Any compact or intermediate Toyota hybrid would also do due to their superior reliability.
The absolute worst choice would be a Ford Transit Connect; very unreliable, hard to service and short lifespan. The Canadian Post Office bought a number of them and quickly retired them; even the drivers were reluctant to take them out on the road.
The best record for long life in delivery service was a late 80s Toyota Celica used in Nevada which accumulated nearly 2 million!!! miles on its original engine.
As many taxi drivers will attest, the Prius gives the best bang for the buck; great reliability, long service life and great fuel mileage!
