I HAVE A 2007 PONTIAC G6 GTP THAT HAS THE AUTOMATIC AND MANUAL SHIFTER. I LOVE MY CAR SINCE I REALIZED HOW HELPFUL MANUAL CAN BE IN THE SNOW. AT WHAT SPEED CAN I SHIFT INTO MANUAL? ONLY LESS THAN 5 MPH? AND IS IT POSSIBLE TO SHIFT OUT OF MANUAL BACK INTO DRIVE AT A HIGHER RATE OF SPEED IF THE ROAD CONDITION IMPROVES?

Any speed, if you are going too fast for that speed it won’t execute the shift. Note , park is not a speed.

I think that if you read your owner’s manual it will answer that question for you, and many more that you didn’t even think to ask.
Please stop yelling.

You have an automatic with a ‘requested gear selection’ feature. Your not making the transmission shift the gears, your asking the transmission controller to shift into a particular gear. You can pop in and out of so-called ‘manual’ mode at any speed without damage.

From the owner’s manual, page 133.
“The transaxle will only allow you to shift into gears
appropriate for the vehicle speed and engine
revolutions per minute (RPM):
? The transaxle will not automatically shift to the
next higher gear if the engine RPM is too high.
? The transaxle will not allow shifting to the next
lower gear if the engine RPM is too high.”
