I have a 2003 Audi A6 - 2.7T with the tiptronic auto trans. Recently the check engine light came on. Dealer says the torque converter needs to be replaced and want $4,000 to do it. Seems high. Is there a more cost effectice course of action for me?

Did they give you a written estimate with part numbers and prices??? $4,000 is extreme to say the least. I want to know what this $4000 is for…
