A while back another poster said he’d had exactly the same problems, water pump, coils, alternator, with his 09 Corolla that I’ve had with mine, all well before 150k. I don’t have stats but it seems unlikely, at least to me, that we’re both outliers.
It may be that there are problems…the problem is without any stats to back up your claim it’s all conjecture.
I simply don’t think of myself as “special” that way. I figure if something goes wrong with my car, unless it’s something out of the ordinary, it’s probably happened before. Two people, just on this site, suggests others. That doesn’t make it a common problem but it’s suggestive IMHO.
