2000 Ford Mustang - Should I keep maintaining the roof?

Need a replacement cloth roof for 2000 convertiable Mustanf, hydrolic lift and pump. I have done alot of work on this car and outside of what I mentioned it is in top condition. Do I stick any more money in it?

Then have a top put on.

That is a decision that only you can make…

Ask yourself, do I like the vehicle and never plan on selling it??
If I plan on selling it, will the investment be worth it vs selling it as is??
Being a convertible needing a top and 23yo, is there rust under the vehicle or anywhere???

What engine/transmission does it have?? I don’t thing anyone in 20-30+ years from now is going to open a barn door and go WOW, there is a 2000 V6 A/T Mustang conv in here, maybe a V8 manual but probably not even then…

Those sound like routine and expected expenses for a 23 year old vehicle. If it is still a car you enjoy driving, yes, continue these sort of routine expenditures to keep it on the road in good & safe driving condition. .

Well, if you plan on keeping it you are going to need to replace the top to keep the rain out. unless you keep it in the garage and only drive it on sunny days
