GM stereos used a code to lock out the stereo as a theft protection system. Google “gm stereo unlock” for instructions on how to unlock the stereo. Here’s a sample site. The Owner’s Manual (if you have it) will provide more info.

> Does your GM car or truck Radio display LOC and does not turn on? Chevrolet, Buick, Pontiac, GMC, Cadillac, Oldsmobile vehicles used a theft system to lock the radio when power is lost. This system was used from the ealy 1990's to the early 2000's.

I have the same setup on a 2000 Blazer, I’ve never set a code to lock the stereo and have not had any problems.

Hint: Loose the ALL CAPS. It makes reading your message more difficult. There is a reason you don’t see newspapers and books using ALL CAPS.

The radio may also be locked if it is not the original radio to the car. Most newer GM radios have to be re-programed with a dealer scanner(tech 2) if they are installed into a different car.
