How can I protect tires from being vandalized - sliced?

Will an alarm do the trick if it can set off when someone get closer? What kind of alarm?

 Any other options?

Park in a locked garage. Alarms do nothing more than annoy the neighbors at night. If people are around they generally pay no attention to alarms in the daytime and vandals also strike in broad daylight.
