# Acceleration problems 2004 honda accord

my car sputters or hiccups while using the passing gear under hard acceleration. any advice? i suspect it may need some new ignition components

How about a little more information.

How many miles on your Accord, auto or manual, when was the last time you replaced the air filter, fuel filter, plugs and wires? How long have you owned the car?

Yes, I suspect you’re right. Put in some new spark plugs, fuel filter, air filter. Then, let us know.

How many miles do you have on the odometer?  
When was the last time that you had basic maintenance done–as per the mfr’s maintenance schedule?

Before you look for a specific cause, bring the car’s maintenance up to date.
