I see a few of them around town here and every time I do I can’t help but think: what about Smart Car vs. Ford F350? How about Smart Car vs. Kenworth? Until such time as everyone goes to smaller cars I wouldn’t have one due to the basic lack of safety against the majority of vehicles which are much larger and heavier.

Doesn’t make any difference if it is a Kenworth or the brick wall of a 7-11.

Let’s face it. If high fuel prices last for more than a year or two, we will see a renewed interest in small cars with excellent fuel economy. And such cars already exist on the world market–they just need to be certified to meet U.S. safety and emissions standards, which is certainly doable.
