the a/c on my 2000 honda crv (170+k miles)has started blowing warmish air while engine begins lunging intermittenly. when i got home i noticed an accompanying noise while engine heaved. when i went to turn engine off temp gauge was on hot. could this be a fan belt or fan belt pully or post?

No. The engine cooling fans are electric. Don’t drive the car. Call Mr. Mechanic to take it to the shop before the engine is damaged more by overheating.
