A blast from the past! Really lol

Mechanically they ere very reliable. Far more reliable then the comparable vehicle from the big 4. But they rusted out way too quickly. Two years of driving in the rust belt was all it took to have major rust through areas.

Ahh that’s interesting stuff
havent seen any on the road around where I live. . Maybe they’ve all rusted out :p.

I did not have a good experience with the Datsuns of the 1970s. After I lost my first wife, I dated a teacher who owned a Datsun F-10. That relationship ended. I then briefly dated a doctoral student who had a Datsun B-210. That relationship didn’t go anyplace. When I met my present wife, she was driving a Chevrolet Monte Carlo. Years ago, a mechanic that I knew before I owned my first car recommended that I go with Fords or Chevrolets. I think he was right–Mrs. Triedaq and I have been married 36 years.

Part of the problem with the early asian cars on the bodies I am told was the nice exposure they had to salt air on the journey over ,right or wrong ,I dont know,I do know unprotected steel rusts quickly exposed to salt water . Our vehicles used to hold up pretty well around here till VDOT got crazy with the the Halite .

The main reason was no treatment of the metal.
