What does a diagnostic trouble code for a “SHIFT SOLENOID B” indicate? There are no driveability problems, the "Check Engine " light stays on even after clearing the code.

The computer has picked up a problem with one of the shift solenoids inside the transmission. The solenoid itself could be bad, or you could even have a bad ground.
It might be good to let a transmission shop have a look. What year and engine size is the camry.

I’m sorry, it is a 2001 camry w/ a 2.2 engine. Does that help?
