I have a '99 Camry that I bought that only came with one key - the kind that has a chip in it. I thought that I would need to get another with a chip in it for it to work. Is this really true or can I go get a key made? I ask this because my mother has a 2001 Camry… and when I was with her I noticed she was using just a regular key. I asked her about it and she said when she bought it (from the dealer) it came with both the computer key and a regular key.

I would love to go out and get a key made if it will work.

 Thanks for answering!

Well, when you’re in Walmart, have a copy made. Try in. Then, mystery solved!
