# '98 protege - new belts - a/c craps out

I had new belts put on my '98 pro 1.8 (145000 mi) within a day the a/c compressor began to ‘growl’ … I asked the mec. to losen the belt, but he said the clutch needed oil and the tightness of the belt had nothing to do with it …the car is still making a noise what should I do ?
