I have a Dodge Neon 2 Liter SOHC manual transmission with a high idle that will not go away. I have changed the air filter and tossed a bottle of cleaner in the gas tank. Do you have any thoughts on what to tackle next?

Possibly a sticking throttle plate or Idle Air Control valve problem.

I would start by checking for vacuum leaks and if none are found concentrate on the idle air control valve. It’s probably defective.

An idle air control costs about $50 and you ought to be able to change it yourself. All you need is a screwdriver.
