# '98 Camry or '01 Taurus as second car?

$7-$8,000 seems high to me as well, but I’d keep looking if it were me. Also, you can get a lemon in ANYTHING & I do mean anything. You can buy something new & have problems with it, so I’d check out many options before buying. There are good used cars around, but you have to check them out (and ask advice here) before buying. Otherwise, you might wind up with someone else’s problem.

That’s also what makes a Taurus of that era a good pick - reliable, but terribly unpopular.

Hey folks, thanks for the overwhelming response and great advice. This is a very active board. The Camry sold the same day I posted this question and I don’t know if the Taurus is still available. Its been a while since we bought a vehicle and we are new to the area so based on your postings, we will definitely shop around. Thanks again!
