One more IS car related… Safety glasses. They mention cutting grass but doing any work on your car, especially with power tools, your eyes are at risk. Wear protection. ---

One of my neighbors was mowing her back lawn in bedroom slippers. _She is a doctor!!_. No fooling. ---

The other contributors from FL can attest to this, motorcycle riders, shorts and tennis shoes, FL does not require helmets. In the 60s would have police visiting school to talk safety. They did suggest jeans and long sleeves when riding motorcycles. This was when we could get licensed for a Honda 50 at 15, no helmets required. ---
