We were driving along with cruise on when a message came up on dash about engine losing power. We were able to get to the shoulder of the road. The car would no restart, we waited for about 15 minutes and tried again and the car started up and appears to be functioning ok. We will take her in to a GM dealership and see if they can find this bug and fix it.

It sounds like your 2022 Chevrolet Equinox might be experiencing issues with the engine management system or fuel delivery, which can sometimes occur in newer vehicles. When the engine loses power and then restarts after a period, it could be related to an electronic or sensor problem. Your decision to take it to a GM dealership is the right one—they will be able to run a diagnostic check to see if any error codes point to the issue. Make sure to mention the specific situation, as some problems could be related to a factory update or recall.

Unless you drive a lot, it should still be under warranty…

Concur, that’s the best choice for this sort of problem. Hopefully it’s easily resolved. About the only thing a driver could do besides that is to make sure there’s plenty of fuel in the tank.
