# 2021 Hyundai Elantra - Hatchback lock stuck

my hatchback’s lock doesn’t release itself when I click to open it…it just gets stuck…is this because the mechanism is faulty (thin little metal rod which opens and closes by pulling and pushing the seemingly solid lock.

Some cars need a double click on unlock to release the hatch, just in case. Warranty time? Manual or auto open?

call the dealership and see if they have staff to help you. The sales staff may not be in just now, but someone should be answering the phones.

You have to hold the fob release button down for 3 seconds to unlock the trunk on my 2010 Kia Forte. Instructions are in the owner manual.
