# 2019 Kia Optima - Engine problems?

does the kia optima still have the engine problems as in previous years

Nobody knows. It has the same Theta II engine that has been problematic. Hyundai/Kia claim they improved the engine, but at the meantime I think the 2020 would get a new engine.

If I was in the market for a new car, I would put that engine on the negative column of things to consider.

I thank you for all of your help, just as I thought so I will be looking for another make and most probably Toyota Camry.
