I was traveling on the freeway. I live in Los Angeles. It was bumper to bumper traffic. And all of a sudden the car cuts off. I have never had a car just cut off. No warning. I kept pressing the excelerator but it would not go. So I put it in park, and started it up again., Still in traffic, bumper to bumper and it cut off again. I was scared to death.

Do you have a check engine light on? If you do you can go to most Autopart’s stores and they will scan your vehicle for free. then you can post the codes here and someone here might be able to help you better.
also, just so you know there is a recall for your vehicle. Others with your vehicle have had the engine cutting off problem and then their engines had to be replaced under the recall because of oil loss and the engine locking up. I am not saying the 2 are related I just wanted to mention it.

A bad crankshaft position sensor can cause an engine to shut off without warning.

And when these sensors fail, it usually doesn’t cause the Check Engine light to turn on.
