# 2018 Ford Edge - Clunks

When I accelerate and then let off the gas at low speeds there is a clunk…sounds like tranny? It doesn’t always happen.

Assuming that your Edge has AWD, my first suspect would be the drive shaft U-joint.

But, to return to the possible issue of the transmission, how often has it been serviced? The fluid & filter should have been changed twice so far, if you want to extend the life of the trans.

With the engine running, shift the transmission into drive, firmly apply the brakes with your left foot, and with your right foot quickly step on the gas and release it.

If the noise occurs, it may indicate a worn engine/transmission mount.

Thank you for your response. Having the tranny flushed next month
