# 2017 Honda CR-V rolls backward when parked

When parked, why would my car roll backwards on a slight incline? I believe I left the car in Park gear, though I found the car in Drive.

Doubtful, plus you have a parking brake that should be used just for these situations.

The shifter won’t go all the way to drive. Nearly impossible.

The only time that I don’t use my parking brake is when the car is parked in my totally-level garage at home.  
At all other times, I use the parking brake–in addition to putting the transmission into “Park”–and so should the OP.
