My 2017 GMC Sierra 4x4 skips when I accelerate causing the entire truck to shake. Also does this when using the cruise control. any suggestions for this issue?

What you might be feeling is torque converter clutch shudder.

I think that Tester is very likely correct, but also I think that we need to ask an important question, namely… How many odometer miles does the OP have on this truck?

It came with a 5 year/60k mile Powertrain Warranty, so unless the OP has put a lot of miles on it since purchase, any transmission (or engine) problems would be covered by that warranty. If the Powertrain Warranty has ended, then he should go to an INDEPENDENT trans shop in his area.

Don’t go to Lee Myles, Cottman, Mr. Transmission, or–God forbid–AAMCO. Those chain-run places will tell you that you need a transmission overhaul, even if you only need to have the Torque Converter Lockup Switch replaced.
