# 2017 Ford Explorer - How can I update GPS

News reports of some recent dealership software hacking problem. Could that have any effect on the update?

The CDK hack is unrelated to map data sold by vehicle manufactures.

CDK is an in-store data system car dealers use for creating repair orders, sales contracts, parts sales, customer data etc.

Many dealers use the Reynolds and Reynolds data system, unaffected by the latest hack.

My car does it at 2:30am unless I tell it to use another time. Every update comes with a request to perform the update and set a time.
