Check the filter, using the instructions in your manual. If it’s dirty, get a new filter. ---

I live on a dirt road…and our air filters need changing before less then half the recommended interval change. ---

If you live and drive in areas where you’re getting ash deposits on your car from the fires, (Calif, Colo), then you should definitely check it. ---

I usually look at the filter with the sun behind it and change if it is not transmitting as much light as I think it should. ---

If you happened to live anywhere near the OK quasi dust bowl it’s quite possible it would need changing already. This is especially true around early/mid summer when harvest is going on, fields are burned, and dry dirt is being plowed up everywhere. Not to mention the plethora of milkweed that clogs up everything including my central A/C unit which has to be cleaned midway through summer. ---

I change my engine air filter and the cabin air filter every 20,000 miles. The cabin filter is usually pretty gross by then but just depends on what kind of conditions you drive in. ---
