2016 Toyota hybrid system will not start while in park. also got a blind spot indication not working. ---

Will it start in neutral? Or, when in gear? ---

It sounds like @oldnotdeadyet is leaning toward a bad or misadjusted neutral safety switch. That was my first thought as well. As for the blind spot monitor there are a couple of possibilities. First, make sure you allow the vehicle to go through the startup check before you drive off. Second, there may be a faulty sensor. The dealer can check for that. There was a very rare issue with blind spot monitoring on the 2018 model and yours might have the same problem. The dealer will know if there’s a Technical Service Bulletin. ---

How old is the 12V battery. That can cause all kinds of problems if it’s dead.
