my car seems to be losing time. Since the Corona virus I don’t use it everyday. But since the weather here in FL is in the high 90"s could it be that the battery needs to be replaced?

Recharge the battery as needed and adjust the clock.

With the heat in Florida I change out my battery at 3-5 years.
Unless your battery is totally dead the clock should not be losing time.

Believe it or not it’s a known problem for that model. [https://m.carcomplaints.com/Chevrolet/Trax/2016/accessories-interior/clock\_doesnt\_keep\_correct\_time.shtml](https://m.carcomplaints.com/Chevrolet/Trax/2016/accessories-interior/clock_doesnt_keep_correct_time.shtml) It’s mentioned on Trax forums too. [https://www.traxforum.com/threads/time-is-continualy-incorrect.5178/](https://www.traxforum.com/threads/time-is-continualy-incorrect.5178/) You’re probably beyond the warranty period so you can either live with it (cheap) or have a car stereo place replace the head unit (not cheap).

Hmm, interesting, seems it is part of GMs OnStar system that is GPS related.
