As my 2014Tundra would not shift to passing gear, I had to have the air injection pump relaced, it fixed the problem. Is this covered by Toyota?

Why do you think it would be covered under warranty on a 10-11yo vehicle?? Is there an extended warranty for the air injection pump (AIP)?? A recall?? Or something??

The AIP can cause engine performance issues that can cause the TCM to not downshift/upshift as normal, call it a safe mode or whatever, so once the AIP was replaced and the engine and system is working correctly again, the TCM once again will shift normally again… That is my theory anyway…

There was a “special service campaign” for updating the ECM software on 2012-2014 Tundras w/ 5.7L because it was causing the air pump to not work properly somehow. The campaign didn’t include replacing the air pump AFAIK. I’m guessing that’s why the OP posted this.
