I have a small crack in the rear bumper and tail light. Is it better to get it fixed before I trade it in?

Usually, Yes, because the trade-in price will be reduced by the cost to repair the damage. If it is covered by your comprehensive insurance, then just file a claim and pay your deductible. Otherwise, just let it go.
