Two different maintenance companies did oil change. Both overfilled. Other than checking oil stick how do I know it’s over filled.

The dip stick is the way you check the oil level unless your vehicle has a dash readout of the oil level .
How much was it overfilled and did you ask them why they did that ?

Every oil change I can remember the level has been above “full.” One possible reason is that engines don’t hold even quarts of oil. Unless the level is high enough for oil to touch the crankshaft there’s not much reason to worry, just check your oil regularly.
