can looses power when climbing a hill ---

Other ideas - engine compression - engine was overheating (did engine seem to be misfiring, sort of like a hick-up?) - if vehicle slowed down but engine rpm speeded up, transmission may be slipping ---

The Accent was an under powered, entry level car even when new. ---

A blockage in the exhaust is another possibility to add to the list (assuming the transmission isn’t slipping as George\_San\_Jose1 wonders). ---

Is there a check engine light on? How many miles on the vehicle? were the plugs ever changed? Was the air filter ever changed? ---
