when i get out of my car it smells like something burning on the drivers side under the hood ---

“Something burning”? Like what? Oil? Electrical? Let the car sit and get good and cooled off, then open the hood and see if you can see any foreign matter, a bird nest for example. Look under the car and see if anything might be touching the exhaust. If you don’t see anything obvious, have it towed to a good independent shop and tell them what’s going on. ---
