# 2012 Ford Edge - Soft pedal

Has the pedal always been soft? If this is a recent development, does pumping the pedal help?Check the brake fluid. If it appears okay, you have air in the lines or some other problem. Drive _carefully_ to the nearest shop and have it checked out.

**Ten** years old, you **should** have had the brake fluid changed **twice** by now. Bet you still have the original brake fluid.  
As Dave says, take it to a shop.

One of the only things I don’t like about my Forester is its soft (since new) brake pedal feel.

Ford Edges of this period have had brake booster issues.
