2012 chevy malibu 1lt , The fuel filter is inside the fuel pump… after we changed around 5 sensors he figured it out. so we might as well change the fuel pump also. I haven’t even owned this car for a year yet and i’ve had nothing but problems and i can’t wait to get rid of it. Thanks

Sounds like you need to get rid of the mechanic.

It’s not the cars fault your mechanic can’t diagnose a bad fuel filter.

It is also not the cars fault the mechanic didn’t know the fuel filter was in the tank.

The car is 9 years old, and things break, no matter what the brand is. If you do sell it, take any possible replacement to a competent mechanic for a prepurchase inspection. It could be the best $150 you spend in the next couple of years. You need a good mechanic anyway, so ask everyone you know for recommendations. Soon you will have a short list to choose from.
