# 2011 Volkswagen Jetta SportWagen - Hot seat

My 2011 VW Jetta Wagon’s seat heater wires shorted out causing a fire in seat. I have a burn hole in seat, my coat and burned the tip of my finger. Anyone else have that issue.

The site you clicked on is misleading. It does not really just connect you to 2011 Jetta owners . It sends you to the CarTalk forum. If you can find a Volkswagen specific forum you may get better responses . I have had heated seats in several vehicles and so have my friends so I think your problem is not a common occurrence. If you have full coverage insurance check with your carrier and see if you should file a claim. VW might even make a good faith discount on repair but don’t count on it.
