The 6-peed transmission in the 2009 Sierra “stutters” or “slips” when shifting gears at low rmp. Neither the dealer nor a reputable local transmission shop can identify the problem with any certainty and it seems to be getting worse. It is most evident when the transmission temperature gets above 150 degrees.

I bought this truck a week ago with no warranty and am extremely concerned the transmission may take a dump on me in the near future.

Appreciate any info anyone may give with regard to this issue.

Thanks,
Bill

Was the transmission fluid ever replaced? If not, get it replaced ASAP

Yup, fluid and filter change in a heartbeat. It may fix it, may not. But it doesn’t cost much to try.
