The problem is getting the gizmo to communicate with the head unit via the cable. @Mazdaguy29 speaking of cables, it is possible that the cable is defective despite the fact that it powers your Bluetooth adapter. ---

For the iPod to connect to the radio there should be an interface module installed behind the radio, then the cable is routed through a hole drilled into the back of the glove box or console. To find a user’s manual you would need to know the manufacture of the installation kit. Some have a small switch added to switch the iPod module on. Some use the antenna cable and you tune to a selected frequency. If you gain access to the module, you can check which frequency has been chosen or select a different frequency. ---

When I press the media button nothing happens. It appear if I cycle thru the cd button I get what I believe is the aux input fir said cable but I can’t get anything to play ---

I had a vehicle that the auxiliary input only worked if the volume of the input was high enough. Otherwise it switched to a different source. Something to consider. ---
