My 2008 Infiniti M45X with 125,000 miles, 2,000 on an oil change clattered when I started it yesterday. I was gone for 2 weeks and when I started it sounded like lifters without oil but smoothed out after a second or two. Do I worry too much?

It is full. Just put half a quart in it a couple weeks ago. It used that in 2,000 miles since the last oil change.

after sitting the parts of the valve train may have been a little dry. This would be normal for many cars, but as long as any clatter went away after 10- 20 seconds, I wouldn’t worry.

Your noise went away because the oil pump got everything lubricated after a few seconds.
Sounds like your car is fine.

If the oil filter has an anti drain-back valve that’s not working, it’ll take longer for the oil to get to the upper end of the engine before valve clatter will stop on a cold start.
