So, it’s rare to change a Toyota starter. And less rare to change an aftermarket starter on same car. OP will now be on #3.

Imo, it’s common to replace starters on Toyotas 😃

Yep, especially when the solenoids had contacts that wore out at about 100,000 miles, like my ‘96 ES300.
