# 2006 Ford Escape -Likely cause of this leak?

Without being able to see it, nobody can give you anything other than a guess–which might, or might not, be correct. My **guess** is that the oil pan gasket is leaking.

From afar, we also have no idea about the _rate_ of oil leakage, so I really hope that you have been pulling the dipstick and checking the oil level on a regular basis.
