# 2005 Ford Escape Not Starting

I recently bought a used 2005 Ford Escape and had to do some bodywork. Having removed the battery to weld some parts ,the car has refused to start and this sign ![Ford](https://global.discourse-cdn.com/cartalk/original/3X/7/2/7225d1ec9d7c101fefa808ff5fa37116d2e8fd48.png) is showing on the dashboard. It has a security device. How can l get it to start again as the vehicle is in Lagos Nigeria and l have very limited diagnostic tools

THere are several videos on youtube. Seems it’s not an uncommon problem
