# 2005 Chevrolet Malibu Maxx fuel tank gasket and pump replacement

I need my fuel tank gasket replaced in 2005 chevrolet malibu should I get fuel pump replaed at the same time

If the pump has never been replaced before and the car has over 100,000 miles, I would get a new pump. There also could be rust on your pump making your mechanic think it is the gasket. You can solve it all at once by installing a new pump and gasket.
