Dealer revised on-board diagnsotic system software on emissions recall. Transmission subsequently shifted roughly occastionally. Three months later got stuck in 1st gear. Dealer indicated “the computer did not hold the updates” “had to reflash.” Further indicated these cars are known to have this problem. Dealer would not go into further detail. Would appreciate any available info on this problem and how to handle.

Keep after the dealer until they make it right. That’s what you paid for.

I emailed on the main Jag website and talked with two customer service reps. One confirmed the dealer said the cars are known to have this problem–the other said never heard about it. How do I get to someone who will honestly talk to you like your neighborhood mechanic will! The “canned” answers I’m getting are making me very uncomfortable in view of the Toyota problems.
