Human nature leads us to look for someone other than ourselves to blame for our problems and mechanics try to avoid being the patsy whenever possible. Servicing an automatic transmission that has been ignored for many years and many miles seems to be among the pitfalls to avoid for shop owners. In my first few years in business there were a few transmissions that we serviced that within a few days had shifting problems and the customers first assumption was always to blame the recent service. All the problems were corrected with a product called Trans-Medic which at some point I made a habit to add whenever a transmission was serviced and from then on never had a complaint regarding a shifting problem subsequent to servicing. Trans-X and Sea-Foam seem to be similar products. I have no connection to any of them.
