I have a 2004 Ford Freestar. Mechanic thought that it is the PCM, but it could be the transmission. How do I how which one it is?

How do we know what problem you are having?

Its obvious isn’t it? The problem is “it” - I found it to be very clear.

Your mechanic thought that WHAT was the PCM, but could also be the transmission? If “it” is the steering wheel, it is time to look for a second opinion.

If your mechanic thought it was the PCM (Power Control Module I assume?) but could be the transmission, perhaps you should look for a tranny shop that can determine which it is.
